WEDDING!!!!

THEY ARE MARRIED!!!!

I guess the name of this blog can now be changed to The Adcock Home.

Quick Recap of the Wedding Day for all those who are still reading.
At rehearsal Friday night, Brittnea kept saying, "I still don't feel like it's real." I feel like we are still planning. Rehearsal went off without a glitch....Eric did great.. Didn't seem the least bit nervous. Rehearsal Dinner was held at La Hacienda Ranch, and was a great time to be spent with the closest family and friends of the couple.
Friday night Brittnea chose for 5 other girls to all stay together at the hotel, spending last moments as a single woman having a great time. ** Funny Story...Brittnea was showing off her lingerie to all of us girls. I just happened to be painting my toe nails. She walked in with what I thought was the next piece of lingerie and said "And this one was my Great Grandmother's" As you can imagine I immediately looked up and said "WHAT?" In her hand she was holding her "something old," her great grandmother's hankie...not her lingerie! She should have told me she was transitioning!!**
Saturday I honestly can not explain to you how calm Britt was. She kept saying "I don't feel like I'm getting married, I just feel like I am having a girl's day." She was absolutely glowing all day...but for some reason we could not keep her from talking to her soon to be hubby on the phone. Around 3:30 we headed to the church for pictures with the bridal party and family. The photographer is amazing!! I know she got some great shots...Can't wait to see the photos.
Wedding started at 5:30pm. Brittnea said it did not hit her that she was getting married until the music started playing for the bridal party to walk down the aisle. She did great not crying....though I believe she did have a few tears walking toward her prince charming. Eric was grinning from ear to ear as his bride made her way down the aisle, it was obvious how in love he is with her. He did not pass out..whew! A relief on everyone's part. The ceremony was perfect. Bobby did a great job, even incorporating laughter and baseball into the vows :) I'm sure that thrilled Eric. After the ceremony Eric said he was ready to do it 3 or 4 more times, that it was so easy, he didn't know why he was so nervous about that.
The reception went great as well. Absolutely beautiful!! . Rick the best man gave a very well rehearsed speech, talking about how his Wolfpack has grown...haha!! Definitely a hit! And of course, I cried during my speech. I never could make eye contact with Britt because I knew I would loose it even more.

Overall, the PERFECT WEDDING for the PERFECT COUPLE.
They are currently on their honeymoon (ooh lala) in Mexico. Let's just hope Britt's bag didn't get checked AGAIN :)

Adcock Updates

Here is an update as we approach the wedding. We are now 10 days out from the wedding and Eric is moving up here on Saturday.

Eric flew up here on Friday to go job hunting Mon-Wed. He had one interview set up for a sign company down south on the Kansas side Monday morning. This is someone that he just found the company online and the owner of the company he is at now had emailed them about Eric. They didn't have an opening or anything that we knew of. Well last Monday the guy called Eric at work and was asking for some information about signs, pretending to be a customer. Then at the end of the conversation the guy said well actually I own a sign company in Kansas, and I was just wanting to see how your customer service was.

Eric met with the owner and his wife Monday morning. The appointment went really well and the guy is interested in expanding his company a bit. He told Eric he would like to talk things over with his wife and then he'll be in contact. This is going to be a great opportunity for Eric. He will get to do what he loves which is design and he will also be the production manager. I'm so proud of him!

God is amazing! That is all I can say. This morning after Eric got home from dropping me off at school, he sat down at the computer to research a few places to call. He was going to try and set up some appointments for next week. Right when he reached to push the power button on the computer his phone rang and it was the guy from Monday. He asked Eric if he could meet him at 12 today. Eric drove down there and the guy offered him the job! WOOHOO!!! He starts March 1st which is the Monday after we get back from the honeymoon.

This job is on the Kansas side down south and about a 45 minute commute without traffic from where I currently live. He would have to leave at least an hour early with rush hour, so we discussed the possibility of moving somewhere half way between his work and my school. We had been looking online and weren't sure about it. We went today after his appointment and looked at 3 places maybe; this is after Eric had looked at 2 this morning. We were somewhat discouraged but decided to drive out to one more place.

On the way out there; it was further from the highway than we wanted and I was about to say lets just forget about it and you can go look next week while you're here. Well then we pull up to the apartments. It's right off another main highway so the commute won't be bad for either of us. They are super nice! We're only getting a one bedroom to help save money, but the layout makes it feel so much bigger!

We will now be calling Lenexa, Kansas our new home! It is off 435 and 87th for those of you from Kansas City that read this.

Another fun thing we did while he was here is open joint bank accounts! It's getting so close until I become Mrs. Adcock. :)

Bachelorette Party!

I flew down to Dallas on Friday, and I got to see my soon to be hubby! There were 3 of us from Dallas with most of my friends from the Houston area, so we decided to have the party in Houston. Us 3 girls from Dallas drove down to Houston Saturday. We all met at Kimbri's house. The girls cooked pasta for dinner which was yummy! Along with some other finger foods to snack on.

Amy put together some questions that Eric had to answer about me. She then asked me the questions and compared my responses to Eric. This was to see how well Eric knew me. It was funny to hear some of his responses. I'll find that sheet to see what he had to say. Future post to come. Then it was time to open the presents. This was a lingerie shower, so it was a blast! I think I turned bright red a few times. Then we played jeopardy. It was FUN!

Then it was time to head to Pete's Piano Bar in downtown Houston. The girls had put together a list of tasks for me to accomplish. Now the girls know me, so nothing was tacky at all. We were told quite a few times that we were the classiest bachelorette party they've ever seen. Here are some pics of the tasks!

My Bridesmaids are Awesome!!!
I had to find a guy named Eric and get a business card. He didn't have a business card, but he wanted to show me his driver's license to prove he was Eric. haha
His task was to draw a tattoo on my arm. He drew a heart with an arrow and Eric.
I had to find someone as old as my dad or grandfather to dance with. This guy was hilarious!!!
Ok so I had to find the cutest guy there to take a picture of the group. He took the picture at the top. If you know Eric then you probably know why I picked this guy. He has the blonde curly hair with blue eyes. :) I am going to have the HOTTEST HUSBAND!!!!
