Always smiling...

Eric is great about ALWAYS making me laugh and smile no matter how stressed out I am. His current thing is that I make up terms and names of medical conditions. When I study I tend to say things outloud. Well he'll come in and be like, Do what? Then I repeat it and he says I just made that word up. Well the other night, I said how about a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (such a fun word to say). Of course he thought I made it up. I then asked what he thought it meant. He started to make oo-oo noises like a monkey! haha (Now he was totally joking but at the time he was being dead serious that he thought it had something to do with a monkey). What a nice break from studying medical school and a glimpse of what goes through Eric's mind. :)

Here is a picture I captured of Eric tonight. This was after dinner.

That is Yeah-Yeah, he was Eric's dog but is now OUR dog. Is this not the sweetest picture. I sure do love them :) (don't worry, We still have Bauer. He was just sleeping on his bed)

I Love Being a Wife!

So I'm really loving this wife thing. First off it's so nice to come home after a long day of studying knowing someone will be there.

What I love most about being a wife... I think my ultimate favorite is to serve my husband. Since I am in school right now making negative money, it gets hard. I get wrapped up in the idea of oh I'm not making money, but I feel the biggest way I can serve Eric is through cooking meals for him. I loved to cook before I got married, but now I really LOVE to cook. I like to try new recipes and see what he thinks. I always make enough for lunch the next day. In the mornings, I pack both of our lunches. Sometimes I'll slip a rootbeer or some cookies into Eric's lunchbox. :)

Every Sunday, I look through my various cookbooks to decide what we'll eat that week. Then I make my grocery list based off that. This week it's Dijon & Lime chicken with Squash casserole, Pesto Spaghetti, Jumbalia Rice Bake, Pasta Vodka something or other (it's a spicy pasta) and Thursday night will be date night. Another post on that later.

Here is a new favorite of ours, Shrimp Tacos! They're so simple and oh so yummy. I use a wildtree seasoning on the shrimp in the skillet. Then on the corn tortillas it's just cabbage, guac, sourcream, cheese, and hot sauce (onions and tomatoes for Eric). Here is the nice set up from the other night. It looks like we went out to eat, but it was in our own home :)

So it's been awhile...

It's been awhile since I've posted. Sorry about that. So here's a quick update!

Well I spent a week in Colorado Springs last month. I went for a national convention for a club that I'm a national representative for. This meeting was for the DO aspect of medicine, osteopathic manipulation. I love OMT and really want to use OMT in my practice. I also ran for the regional coordinator position. I am now the regional coordinator of about 5 medical schools. So excited!!! I felt so bad leaving Eric for an entire week only one month after getting married. Lets just say I was so EXCITED to come home to him :)

I also chopped my hair off! I was needing a change, so I cut 7 inches off. I like it shorter, but I'm thinking I want to add some layers to it and make it choppy! I'm not sure if I like the bangs. I'm thinking they make me look really young. They're growing on me, but still not loving them yet.

Other than that, Eric and I are just enjoying the married life! :)

Love Waits

A good friend of mine from high school is getting married!!! They just got engaged last month in Chicago, and they have entered into a contest for their wedding. They entered into the contest late in the game, so I'm asking that you please take the 2 minutes it takes to vote for them. Please post this link on your blog, facebook or email it out to friends. How cool would it be to say that you helped the winning couple :) Thanks so much!

Married Life

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted.  Eric and I are trying to get into the swing of things :)

So we've been home for what 10 days now?  Is that it?  haha jk  We are absolutely loving the married life.  We love knowing we have someone to come home to at the end of the day.  Don't get me wrong coming home to Bauer and Yeah-Yeah were nice, but now we have each other :)  We both keep waiting for the time that I have to take him to the airport to fly home.  But oh wait he's already home!

Right now in school I've had an easy 2 weeks.  It was a time for electives, and since I'm in the MBA program I don't have to take electives.  I've been able to stay at home study for boards, and work on MBA stuff.  I have been able to meal plan and cook at home every night which has been nice on the pocket book :)

I'm doing phone-a-thon at the school last week and this for 3 nights in the evenings.  Last week on Wednesday I was cooking dinner and thought oh no I won't be home for dinner tomorrow, so what will Eric eat.  Well I decided to make 2 dinners, so all he had to do Thursday was put his portion in the microwave.  Lets just say I'm loving being a WIFE!

Eric's parents drove up on Friday to bring ALL of the wedding gifts and Yeah-Yeah his dog.  We feel so blessed to be surrounded by such loving people.  Lets just say last weekend was eventful.  Yeah Yeah was in a new place so he did not sleep at all Friday night which meant we did not sleep at all Friday.  At one point early in the morning Eric and I were in bed just laughing at Yeah Yeah because we were delirious haha.  Each night is getting better.  Yeah Yeah and Bauer LOVE each other :)  I'll try to snap some pictures of them to post on here.

Eric started his new job and it's a little slow.  Hopefully as he learns the ropes up there he will begin to enjoy his job.  That's just a little update from us.

I will try to post blogs with pictures from now on if I can.  :)

Honeymoon

Mr. and Mrs. Adcock
We spent a week in Puerto Morelos Mexico and LOVED it!!! This was our first time in Mexico and we cannot wait to go back :) After spending 3 years in a long distance relationship, we loved spending an entire week just the two of us!

This was the view from our balcony :)

Here's a little recap of our week in Mexico.
Sunday: Got to Mexico and relaxed on the beach all afternoon. This was our first dinner as a married couple :)

Monday: Relaxed on the beach all day.

Tuesday: Went to Tulum and Xel-Ha.
Xel-Ha is an all natural water park. We went snorkeling and floating down a lazy river. It was beautiful!!!

Wednesday: Snorkeling at the 2nd largest coral reef and relaxed on the beach. I don't have pictures of snorkeling, but a HUGE Eagle Ray swam right below Eric. He could have reached down and touched it. Here is a picture of an Eagle Ray from the internet. The one that we saw was just as big. It was HUGE!!!

Thursday: ATV ride through the jungle and swam in the Cenotes. I have a video of this. We didn't want to take the good camera in case it got dropped, wet or lost. I'll try to post a video later.

Friday: Relaxed on the beach and walked down the beach to Puerto Morelos. It was about an hour walk but so relaxing.

We tried some Ceviche! It's raw fish that soaks in lime juice and is somehow cooked due to the acids. I only ate the shrimp, but Eric ate all of it!
We got a little sun!

Saturday: Spent the morning on the beach to soak up as much sun as possible.

Thank you so much mom and dad Adcock for the wonderful honeymoon!!!

We're Married!!!!

WOW!!! Thanks Amy for posting an update for all of my blogger friends. Here's a little recap with some of the pictures. Jessica has posted more pictures on her blog, but I didn't want to post them all on here. Click here to view the blog.

The wedding was perfect! I can't believe how smooth it went. I was thinking I would be stressing out the morning of. I had some great friends who helped keep me calm all morning. I felt like it was just a girls day hanging out having fun. Thanks girls!

It didn't really hit me that I was getting married until I heard the music for the bridesmaids. Then when my Dad and I stood behind the door for us he started saying how proud he was of us two and I started to tear up. Then the doors opened and I had a HUGE smile on my face. Then I saw Eric and was trying so hard to hold back the tears.

Eric was really nervous about standing up in front of everyone, so right after the giving of the bride I gave him a baseball that said it's just like a baseball game I <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGADZCMqroMMcAGzLlPGaTvcCOEbhRp6on0bptvCP4UI_CkEUY7UWG116YHAs1zxX3iJu686XHU602Ksn52ESi-e2ah5eq5RObrtlYrwbOMhGyNytfDNTxPiJO38VWG5-ONdmUWA-5dcY/s1600-h/22.jpg">
The ceremony was perfect!!! Bobby did such an amazing job showing our personality through the ceremony. LOVED IT!

Then on to the Reception and it was great! Everything was PERFECT! The room was beautiful, the food was excellent, and I loved getting to see everyone. We didn't get to make it around to all of the tables to say hello, and I'm so bummed about that. There were so many people I didn't get to say hi to :(
