Applying for Residency

Wow I can't believe it's finally here. I have been working so hard to accomplish my goal of becoming a physician. It has been a long stressful journey but so worth it. The next step is residency, and the application process is about to begin.

First I have to submit my online application. Then I will get offered interviews. The interviews aren't just for the programs to interview me but it's also a time for me to decide of this program is the right fit for me. Interview season is typically November-January. Then I rank the programs in the order I liked them. The programs also rank the applicants. Both lists are placed into a computer system and "The Match" occurs mid March. That is when we find out where we are off to for the next three years. These next few months will be stressful but exciting for our family!

The picture is one I had to have done to go along with my application. What do you think, do I look like I could be a pediatrician?

  1. You do look like the very best pediatrician ever. I would bring my baby to you with complete trust.
I am so proud of you and all the hard work you have done to get to this time in your life. And I know you are the best mother for my precious great-grandaughter. Granny

  2. You look like the BEST pediatrician! Any residency will be lucky to have you, but you know we would love to have you guys near us, too. I'm sure you will get into your first pick and have so many places to choose from. Good luck!
